The magical Palace of Culture returns – but not as you know it!
Designed and programmed in collaboration with children from Newlyn School, the virtual PALACE OF CULTURE has been created to nourish both body and mind with artist-led online workshops in sculpture, collage, printmaking, dance, poetry, and other stimulating pursuits for all ages and abilities.
Step inside the Upper Gallery and explore a set created in virtual paper with a splendid domed ceiling, by artists Tony Crosby and Laura Drayson. As you wander between the columns you will find ten artworks selected by children at Newlyn School from the Arts Council Collection. There are additional layers of information accompanying each work, just click on the info buttons to activate.
Go down to the Lower Gallery where you can select a stimulating online artist-led workshop, inspired by the works upstairs and the artists who made them. Try offset drawing with Naomi Frears, or dance with Rosie Taylor-Hingston, or perhaps foodstuff automata with Georgia Gendall.
Suitable for everyone, and completely free to enjoy.
