New Clients : Widbrook Grange and Shieldaig Lodge

London, April 2018:  The Massey Partnership is delighted to announce it is now representing  Widbrook Grange near Bradford-on-Avon and Shieldaig Lodge in the Scottish Highlands, two sister hotels that opened their doors in 2017.  These classic buildings have been lovingly transformed into stylish and contemporary country retreats in two of the most picturesque corners of the British Isles.

Widbrook Grange and Shieldaig Lodge form the foundations of an expanding portfolio of British hotels for owners Nick and Charlotte Dent.  The Dents, relatively new to the hotel world, are quietly hand-crafting a collection inspired by the highlights of years of their own travels and hotel experiences.  To this end, the hotels are authentic to their destinations, reflecting the heritage and history of the properties throughout the design choices and locally-sourced menus.  Experienced and knowledgeable staff bring the hotels to life with warmly delivered informal service leaving guests feeling relaxed and welcome.

With individual charm and unexpected features, Widbrook Grange and Shieldaig Lodge are exciting new options for a great British long-weekend break.

Widbrook Grange, Wiltshire

Situated close to the historic town of Bradford-on-Avon, and set in 11 acres of private grounds, Widbrook Grange dates back to the early 1700s and was originally built as a model farm. The main house and surrounding barns and stables have since been converted into a 19 bedroom hotel, with sensitively decorated spaces reflecting the building’s history but with contemporary touches. Originally purchased in 2013 by owners Nick and Charlotte Dent as a family residence, guests will enjoy a home-from-home experience. There is a cozy lounge with sumptuous leather armchairs and original fireplaces, a bright conservatory and an indoor heated pool ideal for post-walk relaxation.

Widbrook Grange’s restaurant is headed by World Champion chef, Sador Szucs, serving traditional farmhouse cuisine with a twist making use of the hotel’s kitchen garden and herb banks. For those who enjoy a tipple in the evening, the hotel has a dedicated gin bar with over 100 craft and award-winning gins and offers a range of gin flights. For history enthusiasts, it is ideally situated for exploring the delights of Bath, Longleat and Stonehenge.

Shieldaig Lodge, Scottish Highlands

Celebrated for its stunning scenery, delicious locally sourced food and access to exhilarating country pursuits including deer stalking, hiking and falconry, Shieldaig Lodge overlooking Shieldaig Lodge in the Scottish Highlands offers the ultimate country escape. The picturesque village of Gairloch is home to Shieldaig Lodge, a former 19th century Victorian hunting lodge which has been lovingly transformed into a splendid country house hotel set within a 26,000 acre estate. With 12 newly renovated rooms including an exclusive suite offering spectacular loch-side views and a restaurant and bar serving local game, fresh seafood and over three hundred whiskies, Shieldaig is ideally placed for those seeking a luxurious yet laid back rural escape. In addition to outdoor activities and fine dining, guests can enjoy Shieldaig Lodge’s spacious relaxation areas, perfect for curling up with a novel, playing board games with the family or simply taking in soaring views of the rugged Scottish landscape.
