NEW CLIENT : The Curated Collection

We are delighted to announce that The Massey Partnership will be representing The Curated Collection. The Curated Collection is the creation of ex Investment manager and trader Tina Liu, who embraced her passion and love for design and travel to create this exquisite collection of homes for the discerning traveller, with the three properties found in the beautiful city of Bath and more planned for the future.

Liu has collated three unique homes, all with great style and atmosphere, with bespoke artwork adorning the walls, stylish interiors, and wonderful character. These three exclusive boltholes are all within walking distance of Bath’s city centre and offer a beautiful place for a weekend away, a base for days exploring the city of Bath – a self-catering option for those looking for something more memorable than the usual Air BNB options.

The first of The Curated Collection is ‘The Curators Apartment’, an art-filled contemporary split-level maisonette located in a Grade II listed building at the centre of Bath's trendy Artisan Quarter. With its own private entrance, the apartment boasts two generous bedrooms, well stocked kitchen and dining area, with a calming, comfortable atmosphere, all within steps of culture gemstones that the World Heritage City of Bath is known for.

The Walcot area is the essence of alternative life in the city, it brings together a vibrant, eclectic collection of characterful independent shops, galleries and restaurants offering everything from vintage clothes to designer homeware and quirky artwork to delicious food.

Hidden among a quiet row of mews houses just behind the iconic Circus is The Fairytale Writer. Originally built in the late 80s, with lovely detailing on the internal arches and cornices. From these whimsical shapes Liu was inspired to take a soft vintage-themed approach in its renovation. Using calming pastel colours on walls and furnishing each room has been carefully decorated to pay contribute to a subtle fairy-tale theme, from Little Red Riding Hood’s basket to Snow White’s apples.

Just a short walk from the city centre, on an elegant road with tall Georgian architecture is the newest addition to The Curated Collection, ‘The Aspiring Cook’. The flat is down some stairs into the lower ground floor, where - in Georgian times – the house’s servants and cook would be busy preparing food. The housekeeper and cook were often given rooms on this floor away from the maids that slept in the attic.

The flat still has many of the original kitchen features, the cast iron fireplaces and cookers, the large fireplace surround are all 200 years old. Inspired by Hannah Glasse, an English cookery

writer of the 18th century. Her first cookery book published in 1747, The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy, became the best-selling recipe book that century. She purposely used plain language to target the book to the masses, unlike most cookbooks published until that point which were written in French. Decorated in historic colours that complement the original cast iron features, as well as individually chosen vintage brass and copper pots for the theme, this is the newest addition to The Curated Collection having just launched.

The Curated Collection was formed in 2020 and is formed of three distinct and stylish self catering homes in the centre of Bath. Renovated and designed by Tina Liu, the Collection launched in 2021 with The Curators Apartment, with The Fairytale Writer following in November 2021 and the newest addition, The Aspiring Cook, welcoming its first guests from Spring 2022. Designed to be more of a stylish home from home, the Collection brings together the luxury, uniqueness and feel of a five star hotel into a charming, welcoming home.
