Having been appointed to handle the UK press office for Mount Haven Hotel in early 2018, The Massey Partnership is delighted to announce that it is now also representing St Michael’s Mount, and restaurant with rooms Godolphin Arms in West Cornwall.
Aletha Mays, Head of Marketing for St Aubyn Estates said, “We are thrilled to be working with The Massey Partnership following such a successful year of engagement with them in 2018 where they achieved a high level of PR and exposure for the Mount Haven. We are excited to continue working with them to further promote beautiful West Cornwall, with a focus on sister property the Godolphin Arms, and also the iconic St Michael’s Mount.”
St Michael’s Mount is a small tidal island in Mount’s Bay, overlooking the ancient market town of Marazion, and known to be a famous landmark of Cornwall. Managed by both the National Trust and St Aubyn Estates, at the summit of the Mount is the beautiful castle, which Lord and Lady St Levan still call home, beautiful gardens, the Sail Loft restaurant and Island Café, and two shops, as well as a thriving village population of 30 islanders. Accessible on foot via a causeway when the tide is out and by boat when the tide is in, the Mount is ideal for families, active couples, walkers, and photographers – with the surrounding sea and long stretch of sandy Marazion beach providing plenty of fun activities for all ages.
The Godolphin Arms is a restaurant with ten rooms, situated on the mainland, overlooking the tidal causeway, directly across from St Michael’s Mount. It boasts panoramic coastal views from the glass-fronted restaurant and recently-refurbished lounge area. The outdoor terrace at the front of the property is the perfect spot, on dry days, for a glass of wine or coffee, whilst watching the changing tides. The restaurant is open for breakfast, and has an all-day menu, serving staple Cornish classics such as fish and chips as well as more adventurous dishes such as Goan seafood curry, and also caters for children. All of the rooms are comfortable and airy, offering sea or town views. A number of them also welcome dogs. A slipway down to the beach is accessible to the side of the property, making this a prime location for families looking for a seaside getaway.
Mount Haven is a 20-room hotel with a restaurant overseen by head chef Ross Sloan. Overlooking Mount’s Bay, the property was bought by St Aubyn Estates as a going concern in 2016, and following a third stage of refurbishment, is set to re-open to guests in mid-April 2019, with a new restaurant and extended terrace space. Along with new furnishings and paint, new bathrooms have been added to some of the bedrooms and the hotel has launched two new room categories: ‘Best of the Bay’, and a ‘Mini Snug.’ The refurbishment predominantly focuses on the brand new restaurant space and outdoor terrace, with the latter offering unparalleled sea views across the bay to St Michael’s Mount and, Penzance to the west.
