New Client : Sabzi
London, March 2024: The Massey Partnership are delighted to announce that they are now representing chef Kate Attlee and her deli restaurant group, Sabzi, which brings a taste of the Middle East to Cornwall.
After opening her first deli in Truro in 2019, Attlee has spent the last five years establishing her brand, expanding to four sites across Cornwall. Delis in Falmouth, Padstow and most recently Nansledan, have joined Truro, each of which operate year round, and as of February, seven days a week, with Sunday opening, in response to demand.
Born and raised in Cornwall, with an Iranian father and British mother, Attlee’s Iranian heritage heavily influences the daily-changing menu at Sabzi and leads to humble, local ingredients being transformed into aromatic, fragrant, sun-soaked reminders of her father’s homeland.
From Sabzi’s house Dahl to Pickled Raw Cornish Broccoli and British Pea Salad, Attlee and her team’s innovative approach to seasonal cooking and menu development ensures that every dish at Sabzi, sweet or savoury, is not only full of flavour, but also budget-friendly, and can be enjoyed eaten in, or as a take away.
Sabzi is built on a foundation of values that Attlee has held since the start of her career. She is focused on supporting and celebrating long-term hospitality careers within Cornwall, and offering opportunities for staff to progress within the company.
Kate Attlee, Sabzi’s owner and founder said, “I am passionate about the hospitality industry, and want it to be a fun and fulfilling career option for people living in Cornwall. As business owners, I believe it is our responsibility to create these opportunities and nurture new and upcoming talent.”
Sabzi’s principles extend to its coffee too. Attlee and artisan roastery Rising Ground have collaborated to create a responsibly sourced bespoke coffee blend, named Duke Street after Sabzi’s Padstow location. It is made of fully traceable beans that are sourced both from smallholdings in the mountains of Papua New Guinea, and the ‘La Morena’ Women’s Project farms in Guatemala.
Sabzi’s entirely bespoke coffee blend reflects its commitment to creative and unique dishes. The food menu at Sabzi changes everyday, offering customers a chance to enjoy fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients at their best. For example, meat and eggs are always free range, and Sabzi’s milk comes from Trink; a family owned and run farm and dairy near St Ives, where the cows are reared to the highest organic welfare standards. Sabzi’s potato dishes are cooked with potatoes grown within six miles of their central kitchen at Falmouth.
Kate said, “Seasonality is key in our kitchen. We aim to offer incredibly delicious food that is prepared using fundamentally humble and accessible ingredients, but at an affordable price point for the local community, as well as visitors to the county.”
Attlee continues, “Sabzi is here to serve its community and provide a special and memorable experience for its guests, and an alternative to more traditional restaurants. Combining sustainable ingredients with delicious, creative cookery is exciting, and has the opportunity to really make a difference to the way we eat.”

Kate Attlee is the founder and owner of Sabzi. Kate was born and raised in Cornwall. With an Iranian father and British mother, she has been surrounded by international flavours and naturally brings this variety and originality to her cooking. After a number of years in London where Kate gained valuable training and experience in the hospitality industry at Michelin star level, she returned to Cornwall to marry and raise her family.
In 2015 Kate hosted a number of sell-out supper club events from her home in Truro, showcasing Iranian food to Cornish audiences in an intimate and informal setting.
2018 saw Kate apply and be accepted from over 3000 applicants, to appear on, and to reach the quarter finals of BBC1’s Master Chef. The experience confirmed for Kate her enduring passion for the food industry and enjoyment of cooking and serving her food to others with love, great flavour and flair.
After many sell-out events across the South West, in 2019, Kate opened Sabzi in Truro, followed by Sabzi in Falmouth in summer 2022, and sites in Padstow and Nansledan in summer and autumn 2023, respectively.
