Painting Holidays in West Cornwall with the Newlyn School of Art NEW for 2024
Join the Newlyn School of Art with the brand new ‘Abstacting the Wild’ 3 day landscape paint course, run by artist Sam Boughton. Whether you’re an expert or total beginner, join the small group to explore use of colour, tonal contrast, gestural and dynamic mark-making, working with wet and dry materials and building up a series of related works of different scales.
Much of the course will take place in the dramatic landscape of west Cornwall where you’ll will learn how to make studies which will inform the creation of paintings in the studio made with a wide variety of contrasting layered materials such as inks, paints, pastels and coloured papers.
A fantastic immersion into responding to the energy, colour and dynamic compositions found in coastal locations around west Cornwall, this is a proper break – where you’ll have the great outdoors, amazing views and you’ll come away with a new skill!
