Get active this Summer and learn to paddleboard in West Cornwall

The Godolphin Arms in Marazion has partnered with locally based Stand Up Paddle Boarding and Kite Surfing Company, Ocean High, to create a ‘Get Active’ package this summer. The perfect time to visit, whilst the sun and sea are at their warmest, West Cornwall is brimming with fun outdoor activities to be enjoyed.

Encouraging guests to embrace the great outdoors, the package includes a paddle boarding lesson, tickets to the iconic St Michael’s Mount, home to beautiful sub-tropical gardens, and a delightful one night stay at the Godolphin Arms – the restaurant with rooms located directly onto Marazion’s sandy beach.

Guests of all abilities can have a go at paddle boarding in one of the most unique locations in the UK, with qualified instructors on hand to help out. With the chance to paddle right the way around the Mount, when conditions permit, guests will be treated to incredible views of the ocean and sides of the Mount that aren’t normally visible. As well as being a fantastic way to bond whilst having fun on the water, each trip will also be educational thanks to founder, Lawrence Smith, who has a background in marine biology. Lawrence will teach guests about the creatures native to these waters such as the weird and wonderful sun fish.

As well as plenty of opportunity to have fun in the water, with Marazion’s beach renowned to be ideal for swimming, guests can also walk across the cobbled causeway towards the Mount. Here, they can enjoy the castle and the beautiful gardens that surround it, home to an array of exotic plants. Alternatively, the South West Coast Path right the way round to Porthleven is accessible, taking in sweeping views of the stunning coves of Perranuthnoe, Prussia Cove and Rinsey en route.

Back at the Godolphin Arms, guests can enjoy a delicious meal and bottle of wine in the restaurant, which serves Cornish classics such as fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce to the more adventurous crab mac ’n’ cheese with Sriracha. After a leisurely walk across the beach at sunset, guests can retire back to their sea view room and enjoy a comfortable night sleeping to the sound of the sea.

The ‘Get Active, Stay Active’ package is priced from £345, based on two people sharing a sea view room, and is available from 21 June 2019 to 30 September 2019.
