Christmas at Forty Hall Farm rescheduled

London, December 2024: Christmas at Forty Hall Farm is to take place this Sunday 15 December, from 10am to 3pm, in Enfield, North London.

The monthly farmers’ market, is a celebration of local food and drink in North London, hosted by The Food Gatherer, at Forty Hall Farm in Enfield, London’s only certified-organic farm.

Usually taking place on the second Sunday of each month, the December event was rescheduled to this Sunday due to last weekend’s stormy weather.

Market director and head of operations for Forty Hall Vineyard, Emma Lundie said, “We were so disappointed to have to cancel last weekend, but knew it was the right thing to do, as it would have been dangerous for people to be at the farm, and to travel to us.

We are thrilled to be able to reschedule our Christmas event to this weekend. Many of our stallholders are able to make this new date, and it will be a brilliant festive celebration to have at the end of the year, and a bit closer to Christmas Day! We really hope people will pop by, especially as this is the last market until April 2025 – enjoy some street food, mulled wine from Forty Hall Vineyard, and stock up on some edible treats, gifts and great ingredients from our local makers and producers. We also have some recently-born piglets on the farm to say hello to.”

The market welcomes over thirty stalls to the working farm each month, including an array of street food, and local producers and artisans. There’s plenty of space to sit and gather, and the organisers encourage visitors to take time to explore the farm, get involved in the activities taking place and enjoy the surroundings of the farm and the wider Forty Hall Estate.

Wreath-making will take place in the Black Barn, there will be music in the open barn, and Forty Hall Vineyard (FHV) will be selling their wines, including their recently released 2020 vintage London Sparkling Brut with London-grown grapes harvested at Forty Hall during the autumn lockdown of 2020.

Emma Lundie, said, “The 2020 Brut is really something special - not only because it has benefitted from three years on the lees, but also because it’s the outcome of an extraordinary year.

“We are delighted to release this sparkler – our Lockdown London Brut, in time for Christmas – a result of what was a challenging year for so many. Lovely with a creamy cheese, but even better enjoyed on it’s own. This is one to celebrate with!

For those who can’t attend Christmas at Forty Hall Farm the Forty Hall Farm Shop is open 11am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday, with late night shopping until 8pm on Wednesday 18 December. Forty Hall Vineyard wines are also available to purchase at Bottle Apostle stores and via the website: https://www.fortyhallvineyard....
