Carbis Bay Hotel & Estate awarded a 5* Gold award

Carbis Bay Hotel, Spa & Estate has been awarded a five-star GOLD Award by Quality in Tourism, becoming the first hotel in Cornwall to be honoured with this prestigious accolade.

The family-run Estate located in Carbis Bay, near St Ives, completed their multi-million pound beach regeneration project and launched their waterfront lodges and suites in 2018.

Almost a decade in the making, this is the most exclusive beachside offering in the UK and brings a new level of luxury to Cornwall, with infinity views across St Ives Bay and direct access onto the award-winning Carbis Bay Beach.  With a clear commitment to providing the most exemplary of experiences, Carbis Bay ensures all guests have the most memorable of stays.

Quality in Tourism recognises the excellence of hotels across the length and breadth of the UK and internationally.  Hotels are marked against a criteria focused on the customer journey, what they do for their customers in their market, and the hospitality, service and quality of the product overall. Quality in Tourism have modernised star ratings to ensure the very best of customer-driven standards are in place, in order to gain a 5-star Gold award. Gone are the prescriptive old-fashioned tick box exercises, with design, quality and service being at the forefront and optimum levels as at Carbis Bay Hotel.

Carbis Bay has demonstrated its commitment to driving its competitive edge by investing heavily and thoughtfully in its people and product. There is a perpetual commitment to improvement which has seen a substantial shift this year, resulting in an incredible experience for the most discerning of customers. They have also made a large-scale commitment to sustainability on the estate and its unique coastal environment.

Deborah Heather, Director of Quality in Tourism says "From the moment that I heard about the development of the Carbis Bay Estate, I was struck by the innovation and guest orientation of the project. The final product is simply exceptional and the approach towards continuous improvement from the team, who work so hard and so well together should be the envy of the industry. I am proud to award a five star gold to Carbis, it is simply exceptional".

Owner and Managing Director, Stephen Baker said:

I am immensely proud and honoured that we have achieved 5 Star Gold.  This has been made possible, not only through our own vision, endeavours and re-investment over the years but also it is, in great part, thanks to the entire team at Carbis Bay Estate.   We have received invaluable advice, support and encouragement from Quality in Tourism and we will continue to do everything we can to offer our guests and visitors an outstanding experience.”
