London is buzzing with the Olympic spirit, with flags fluttered, volunteers at every turn and images of amazonian Olympiads peering down from billboards across the city! Its such an exciting time to be in London, with so much going on and of course, our home turf advantage!
To celebrate the Games Malmaison London have created some fabulous cocktails, the Gold, Silver and Bronze, the Olympics Rings ( rather potent looking shots), the Team GB Martini and the Olympic Flame. Pop down anytime until the closing ceremony to enjoy one!
I was lucky enough to find myself with some tickets to ....the beach volley ball on Horse Guards Parade. Walking up the Mall with Buckingham Palace in the background was a pretty impressive backdrop, even on a drizzly (very early!) morning.
Having never watched Beach Volley ball before ( I'm not sure watching Iceman and Maverick in Top Gun really counts..) I was really suprised by how competitive and exciting it was. First of all we saw the men - with the Czech Republic beating the Japanese team.
And then the amazing Brazil team really trashed Switzerland..
Then it was the turn of the girls!
Argentina fought a tough match against Spain, and lost in the third set.
High above an artist captured the scene, under the watchful gaze of The London Eye.
Then it was the turn of Brazil V Germany - a serious battle!
It was such a great experience to visit one of the Olympic sports and be a part of it, we didn't get to see the GB team in action but I hear they are pretty good! Good luck to all the Olympic teams - especially Team GB!
