Sometimes I think we all take London life for granted. It is easy to forget to open your eyes to the wonders and delights of the capital, and there are many that pass us by every day. Last week I decided to forego my bicyle ( self confessed fair weather cyclist here..) and the hot and muggy tube, and walk into work, to see what I could see. The morning was grey and drizzly, a miserable dull cloud hung over the city as I walked down the side of Regents Park, missing the crisp and fresh winter mornings we often enjoy and wondering if this was really such a great idea.

Then as I carried on walking I suddenly heard the clip-clopping of hooves, and lo’ and behold around the corner came the beautiful horses of the Household Cavalry, steam rising from their flanks and smoke streaming from their nostrils as they thundered up the road, pulling against their riders, eyes rolling and obviously all excited to be out on exercise. It was the most lovely sight, so traditional and such a lovely London scene - it made me happy to be a Londoner, so much so that I might ever pull on my trainers and walk in again!
